The much hyped up and mass marketed film 2012, advertised with a touch of government conspiracy. Pointed towards our sun as the main cause for a the re-birth (or end) of the earth with a great flood. Amongst earthquakes and devastating effects of the earth crust, softening due to solar flares re-acting with the earth’s core and heating it up? Pole shift and some big boats sail into the sunset. With say 500 million people? (threw that number in from the Georgia Guide Stones, with no real reason)So is that possible? Recently NASA stated a breach in earth’s magnetic field in 2008.

Do i believe everything NASA states on it's website? not without a pinch of salt. NASA shuttle's are being retired for the future, and NASA's budget re-thought. And suddenly NASA is grounded, for how long? years.

Other than the European space program, and the Russian's (again go research) is anyone now going to space in the next 3 years?
Space, it seems, is now off human limits... so what now of the ISS? There's still folk on it.

So, the sun..whats it doing? NASA say's it going though a deep dip in solar sun spots the last peak of sun spots was in 2001. And if that graph is anything to go by, the next peak in sun spots is roughly about 2012....or there abouts. However they have published a solar storm warning
read digest, and draw your own conclusions. So what are sun spots?

At the moment, theres only predictions and patterns on Solar maximum, or frequency. We are due another peak in the next 2 years. So anything other than facts for me is missing, but however, the NASA magnetic field news, is the only fact in the theory that we could be in trouble against solar flares....
So what would happen? the Hazards of solar flares and Geomagnetic storms is documented briefly on the wiki, is that destructive enough to make the claim of the end? So far i am not convinced.

Again, use some sense and find out for yourself what you think of the facts so far entail, for me I'm not going to become a Charlie Frost (Woody Harrelson) just yet....look up Denvor Airport conspiracy on google and youtube, this is the only physical reference on earth referring to it in modern times, and by that i mean the painting, but then that fire could be anything....but its still a disturbing painting

As the Sun Awakens, NASA Keeps a Wary Eye on Space Weather

June 4, 2010: Earth and space are about to come into contact in a way that's new to human history. To make preparations, authorities in Washington DC are holding a meeting: The Space Weather Enterprise Forum at the National Press Club on June 8th.

Richard Fisher, head of NASA's Heliophysics Division, explains what it's all about

"The sun is waking up from a deep slumber, and in the next few years we expect to see much higher levels of solar activity. At the same time, our technological society has developed an unprecedented sensitivity to solar storms. The intersection of these two issues is what we're getting together to discuss."

The National Academy of Sciences framed the problem two years ago in a landmark report entitled "Severe Space Weather Events—Societal and Economic Impacts." It noted how people of the 21st-century rely on high-tech systems for the basics of daily life. Smart power grids, GPS navigation, air travel, financial services and emergency radio communications can all be knocked out by intense solar activity. A century-class solar storm, the Academy warned, could cause twenty times more economic damage than Hurricane Katrina.
